Day Spring Honors Rep. Larry Clark With E. Ollie Mershon Distinguished Legislator Award
Representative Larry Clark received the E. Ollie Mershon Distinguished Legislator award on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Day Spring Bi-annual Legislative Appreciation Breakfast. Day Spring empowers adults with mental retardation and provides residential services and support to an ever-expanding population, currently serving 45 adults and their families. Clark was honored for his outstanding public service to persons with intellectual disabilities.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized by an organization that provides such outstanding services,” says Larry Clark. “I will continue to do my best to be a strong advocate for the disabled in our community.”
Incorporated in 1992, Day Spring began service to residents in 1994; since that time it has participated in annual financial, program, and housing audits. Oversight to Day Spring programs and services is provided by Office of Investigator General through License and Regulation, local comprehensive care center (SCS), Medicaid, Department of Mental Retardation and Housing and Urban Development. Day Spring is located at 3430 Day Spring Court, Louisville, Kentucky.
Clark represents the 46th District in Louisville and has served in that position since 1984 and also serves as House Speaker Pro Tempore, a House leadership position he has held since 1993.
